Phoenix Wright: The Genetic Opera

Sun Aug 16, 2009, 11:58 AM
Hello again,

Recently, I visited Castlefest, a Fantasy Fair at the Keukenhof in Lisse. I was in good company of two Victoria Frances vampires and a black angel. It was amazing, we were surrounded by photographers. I don't know where they all came from. Perhaps they were too afraid to go the Gay Pride (which was held the same weekend), and needed another event as an excuse. We had fun with them. We also did some good tasting at Mead & More. One advice: Never try DrachenBlut, it's horrible.

I also went to the Cosplay Camping Meeting near Almere. It was alternating sunshine and heavy rain. Because of that, there wasn't much cosplaying, but I still had a good time. And I'm getting used to being the oldest. We held a few silly contests. One guy was able to gulp down a package of noodles in 11 seconds, and an icecream in 9 seconds. He is now known as 'the Black Hole'. One week was a bit short for holidays, but it'll have to do for this year.

At the birthday party of a friend I saw the movie "Repo: the Genetic Opera." It's a rock opera musical horror. It has a few disturbing scenes (I find), but interesting characters and great songs, featuring Sarah Brightman a.o. If you have a strong stomache, you should see it.

So before I got my hands on the official soundtrack, I searched youtube for some songs and found a crossover with a game I'm currently playing: Phoenix Wright. So check them out, but only AFTER you see the movie, or you'll be majorly spoiled. I prefer the ones made by GeminiKingdomPro. He's better at lipsyncing and choosing the right characters, than the others. Here's a good start: [link]

I'm also still reading the Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide Omnibus. I'm at the third book now, and I just have to share this colorful passage:
'It was black.
Where it wasn't black you were inclined to wish that it was, because the colors with which some of the unspeakable details were picked out ranged horribly across the whole spectrum of eye-defying colors, from Ultra Violent to Infra Dead, taking in Liver Purple, Loathsome Lilac, Matter Yellow, Burnt Hombre and Gan Green on the way.'
So anyone doing commissions here? I'd like a drawing of that!

Here's another passage displaying the kind of humor, that the Hitchhiker's Guide is filled with:
'"Bet you weren't expecting to see me again," said the monster, which Arthur couldn't help thinking was a strange remark for it to make, seeing that he had never met the creature before. He could tell that he hadn't met the creature before from the simple fact that he was able to sleep at nights.'

That was the news update about my life.

Bye
